- If you are seriously involved with someone that you hope to spend the rest of your life with just remember one thing: You need to consider the fact that you are probably going to be involved with that person’s whole family.
- Did you know that some artificial sweeteners (for sure, even Stevia) can trigger IBS? This is first hand information.
- If you have hypersensitivity to a tooth and your Dentist doesn’t really find anything to cause it, you could try not only brushing your teeth with Sensodyne toothpaste but also put a small amount at the base of your tooth and leave it there. I had a root canal done several years ago and still have sensitivity to that tooth. One Dentist even suggested that I would need another root canal to that tooth. Yikes. I got a second opinion and he said to try the Sensodyne as described above and that took care of the problem.
- Speaking of second opinions, my eye Doctor suggested a fairly new procedure (surgery) that would help my recently diagnosed Glaucoma. I decided to get a second opinion. Turns out several things the other Doctor had told me were not exactly the way he described. I also did my own research (you should too) and found that the things this new Doctor told me were absolutely correct. Thank goodness I got the second opinion. Anytime you have questions about something you are told you need, you should not hesitate to get a second opinion. I am prejudiced about this and I admit it but I am Board Certified in my specialty (PM and R) and very proud of it. I do advise people to search for that with your search for any Physician you wish to go to. There are many Physicians that are excellent at what they do but are not Board Certified. So this is not a hard and fast rule but just a suggestion. Do your own research and get references. If you have access to the “Next Door” website or something similar that is a good place to start.
- I can’t stress enough to “everyone” to drink more water and coffee and tea and juice count toward your eight glasses a day. I do not advise carbonated beverages or alcoholic beverages here either. Water is absolutely the best for you. One big reason you should stay hydrated is because otherwise you could destroy your kidneys. Be sure you have your Doctor check your kidney function tests at least once a year. Let me give you an example. Say you are so busy with your schedule that you just don’t have time to drink more water because then you have to run to the bathroom more and you don’t have time to do that either. So, long story short, slowly but surely, you have seriously damaged your kidneys. Your BUN, Creatinine, and estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR) are abnormal. This is not good. Trust me. So, no matter what. “Drink more water.” Oh, and another note. When your kidneys are compromised you absolutely have to avoid NSAID’s. If you suffer from any kind of pain, such as from osteoarthritis, I’m sure you have found “Motrin” and such very helpful. That is because NSAID’s ease inflammation which Tylenol does not. Of course if you have liver problems, you can’t take acetaminophens (like Tylenol) either. Just keep all this in mind and “Drink More Water.”
