It is rather surprising to me how many women have told me that how a man kisses is very important to them and further that most males do not know how to kiss. I mentioned this to my husband. He said men, generally, don’t care. So, he did not feel it would be of that much interest to males for me to write a chapter on it. So much for taking his advice. I actually don’t believe males don’t really care. Most males that I know, especially males that are really in love with their mate, want to please their beloved. Well, anyway, here goes. The following advice is from family members, friends, acquaintances, and articles I have read as well as personal experience. Some males come at you on a first date with their mouth wide open as if you are going to be their next meal. Please, this is a big turn off to most women. Take it easy, for crying out loud. And the tongue thing, again, it’s a bit early for that. I think men read stuff and watch TV enough to think this is “manly” and a big turn on. Well, no, it is not for a first date, to most women. One woman told me that she refused to keep dating a guy she had thought had definite possibilities until he grabbed her and “French” kissed her on their first date. I totally agree. Another guy was the worst kisser known to man (or woman). He kissed with his lips tight but open so that his mate was slammed right into his teeth. There was not only no passion but also no softness or “caring” behind the gesture. The best “kissers” kiss with their lips totally relaxed and soft. This can be accomplished with absolutely no tongue involvement. The holding and hug that goes with it is also with softness, caring, and respect. Now, I am not against “French” kissing but there is a time and place for everything. Frankly, I think the first, second, or third date is too early.
For goodness sakes, guys, do not go groping around on the first date either. For that matter not on any early dates. There should be definite signals that this is OK. If the woman says “stop” or gives signals that this is not OK, then stop. It is that simple.
I would love to have feedback from males and females on this.
Thank you.
